World Freak Punk Experimental Psychedelic Avant Folk MUSIC
A
collective of some of Tokyo area’s strangest and most dangerous musicians, artists and nothing
beings. Some of them are native to the country and some are stranded expats
with an overflowing stream of creative energy and a taste for sacrifice. Their
cult-like self-created communities involve artistic and rebellious expression mixed
with tribal sexual activities - all of which translate tightly into their
music. Their shows have been praised as “psychedelic
rituals from an exotic world.”
Starting out as two
foreigners performing in parks and on the streets of Tokyo as an
accordion and acoustic guitar duo. Their mission was only to add some abstract
magic to the surrounding area and maybe even to piss a few people off with
their offbeat yet humorous music. After constantly being asked if they had any
CDs of their music they decided to quickly create a recording, known as “Purely Cosmetic,” that featured what they were trying to do in the streets. Before
long they were asked to play in livehouses and parties. This helped create a
community of like-minded people that would gather in remote forests and
mountains to “drone” with
nature and awake the creative spirits within. Things started changing and
getting even stranger as the community built primitive animalistic rituals that
started to make its way into the group and the music. Countless recordings were
released documenting all of this as The GoodLuck Boys collectively playing with
many guests. It seemed as if the band grew into a thriving community on a
mission to explore the mystic corners of the human psych. Finally deciding to scale
down as a four-piece band they pushed on as a unit and recorded a batch of
songs that was released as “A Gift Of Time.”
