Francesco Crosara is an accomplished jazz pianist, composer and educator who has performed at festivals and venues across the United States, Hawaii, Canada, Mexico, and throughout Europe.

Born and raised in Italy, Francesco studied classical composition at the Conservatory of Santa Cecilia in Rome.  In 1981, he moved to Los Angeles where he was the pianist for the USC Jazz Band and performed with Lionel Hampton and Freddie Hubbard.  Through the years he has also performed with Richie Cole, Von Freeman, Bruce Forman, Roy Hargrove, John Heard, Don Menza, Barbara Morrison, Bobby Shew, and Ira Sullivan.

His discography includes four albums featuring Chicago tenor sax legend Von Freeman, Lilian Terry on vocals, and musicians from the US, Brazil, Hawaii, an Egypt. Downbeat Jazz Magazine awarded a rating of 4 stars to his CD Colors.

Francesco comes from a musical family.  His mother, vocalist Lilian Terry, recorded with Dizzy Gillespie and Tommy Flanagan, and promoted concerts in Italy for Chick Corea, Gary Burton, Abbey Lincoln, and many others.  These music giants greatly influenced the young Crosara along with Bill Evans, Keith Jarrett and Herbie Hancock.  Francescos approach to composition and performance brings together elements ranging from classical to world, latin, blues, and free improvisation, creating a unique style that is always fresh, introspective and entertaining.
